The reason for the birth of Ùrar gin.

Ùrar gin was created by artists and creators Robin and Motoko, who met at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London.

Robin is a Scottish Highland region dotted with many whiskey distilleries.

Motoko has its roots in Nagasaki, Japan.

Over the 10 years since their first encounter in 2013, the two have gained respect for their respective hometowns, accumulating knowledge about their history, climate, and special products.

In 2019, the pair settled for a long time on the family-run Pitiwoolish farm on the outskirts of Aviemore, a Highland city, where they worked out a new gin development plan.

After three years of distillation experiments, Ùrar gin was finally born.

The ingredients include juniper berry, a spice that grows naturally in Aviemore and is essential for the production of gin, and traditional citrus fruit ``Yukou'', which grows wild in the Sotome area, a hidden Christian village on the outskirts of Nagasaki. We have created a craft gin [Ùrar gin] that has a refreshing botanical feel that sets it apart from other highland dry gins.

This is a crystallized homage to Robin and Motoko's cherished hometown.
